OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's men's soccer team shut out St. Thomas (Texas) 1-0 on Saturday night at Stars Field.

Stephen Sheffield, a senior from Jacksonville, Texas, had the only goal in the match. He scored late in the second half and was assisted by Scott Jackson, a senior from Edmond, Okla., in the 75th minute.

The Stars' defense was led by goalkeeper Andy Fitzpatrick, a sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., with six saves in the match. OCU posted its ninth shutout in the season. 

OCU, ranked second in the NAIA, improved to 16-1-1. The Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season champion Stars open play in the SAC Tournament on Friday at Stars Field.
